RABBIT FOOD & TREATS
What can my rabbit eat?
fresh hay or grass
(sprinkled with tasty dried foraging
to encourage more hay eating)
herbs & vegetables
good quality pellets

Rabbits thrive on a herbivorous diet, primarily consisting of a variety of plants and plant-based foods. It's crucial to ensure their meals are rich in fibre to maintain their overall health. An appropriate diet not only keeps them happy but also prevents severe health issues like dental disease and gut stasis, which can arise from improper feeding.
Transitioning Your Rabbit's Diet Carefully
When introducing any changes to your rabbit's diet, remember to proceed gradually. Sudden dietary shifts can disrupt their delicate digestive systems. By adjusting their food slowly, you help ensure your rabbit's tummy remains happy and healthy.

Hay/grass should be the primary source of food for a healthy rabbit so if you have a 'fussy' rabbit, we have lots of tips and ideas to share to encourage them to eat more to make life easier (and less expensive for you).
Please don't be tempted to feed them more veg, pellets or treats, no matter how cute their little face is, as it can lead to further health complications such as GI Stasis, obesity & more.
Once you understand and fix their relationship with hay, they (and you), will be a much happier bunny and you will have more money in your pocket!
Here are our tried & tested hays over the years, they vary in price and type and we generally find that the most palitable & popular tends to be:
Timothy hay
Meadow hay

Burgess Excel rabbit nuggets with Mint
We feed these to our own bunnies, Tilly (a mini lop) & Dexter (a lionhead) and they love 'em!
Supreme Selective Naturals Grain Free Rabbit Food

no corn, no wheat, rich in natural ingredients
no added sugars or artificial colors
with linseed for healthy skin and shiny coat

Remember - a healthy diet for a bunny is:
5% good quality rabbit pellets (not muesli),
10% fresh leafy greens and herbs and
85% good quality hay/grass (with some dried foraging)
They only need a very small quantity per day so do not over feed pellets as too many , can upset their delicate tummies.
We include these pellets for all boarding guests (providing these pellets are already included in their normal diet already).
How often should I feed my rabbit pellets?
